DAY 39 - PENDLETON to PORTLAND, OREGON
JUNE 21 , 2014
Today was a travel day.......FUN and just a beautiful drive.
We drove from Pendleton, OR. to Portland, OR., mostly beside the Columbia River (which Lewis and Clark traveled).
It was a good day for traveling, cool with sunshine. We saw a beautiful country side, with trains, green hills and snowy mountain tops.
The first optional stop on our Trip Log, was the Maryhill Museum. We didn't stop, but some of the other caravaners did and said it was nice to see.

The next was at Dalles Dam. We skipped it also. But as we drove Mt. Hood stood out as we traveled west on I84 & Hwy 14.

The Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center was a very nice museum. It had two levels of items to see from the past and future. Along with two movies showing: "How the Columbia River Gorge was formed" and "On it's Future". There was also room dedicated to the Catholic Church. It had hundreds of rosaries, and a section set up for monstrances.
