DAY 25 - FORT PECK, MT TO HAVRE, MT
JUNE 7, 2014

From Fort Peck to Havre was intended to be a simple, straightforward and uncomplicated day.  And, it was, up to the last little bit.  About 3 miles of rough construction led into Havre.  Then the fun really began, trying to fit everyone into the campground.

Along the way there were several small county museums.  Like any other day, not everyone stopped.
Early day Montana included some well dressed ladies.

Could be a picture from Grandmother's house.

Earl, why do we have our heads stuck through this wall?
Shut up and keep staring.

Fire was a huge problem in the developing West.

Stylish!!!

Also, along the way at Chinook, was the historic battlefield of Bear Paw.   Within the battlefield, paths have been mowed leading you to points where specific things happened.  Each important point was marked with a survey marker, and each point was labeled showing what happened there.  At several of these small monuments, people have left little trinkets ,in honor of or in respect for, what happened there.

Pathways leading to significant locations on the battlefield.

A marker and items left by unknown people.

You sure this leads to the rest room?

During the drive itself, a young bull tried to attack one of the guests, but it failed to cause any damage and the trip moved on.
Ivan says: " Ha ha, you missed me!"
Bull says: " Darn, I missed him"
Cowboy says: "^$*#%  bulls, wish I had my horse!"
Tailgunner says: "Wow, I've never seen a cowboy on foot chasing a bull with a shovel."

At the RV park, there were short back-in spaces arranged around a U-shaped road and parallel parking along the interior of the U.  In the short spaces, our RV's stuck out into the road.  In the parallel spaces, the utility connections were on the wrong side, and there was a free wash during the night from sprinklers.
Tight quarters!

The guests sponsored a pot-luck dinner and horse races after dinner.  It was good food and tons of fun.
Great Food.  Thanks, Guys.

Pick them ponies and let's go!

My horse is faster than your horse!

Surprise, Surprise!  The Winners are smiling.
