DAY 19 - PIERRE, SD TO
BISMARCK, ND
JUNE 1, 2014
Today we traveled
through beautiful farmed prairie land. We took a picture of the
"Louisiana Three" checking out the Louisiana Purchase.
Grain silos give a clue about the amount of crops harvested each
year.

And all this mud washes downstream to our state! |
|
Do you know what these store? Money! |
There are miles of
straight roads and driveways at least half a mile long! Scenery included
wonderful views of the Missouri.
|
Long - Long way to go. |
Sacajawea and Sitting
Bull monuments need some TLC. They were still interesting and worth
seeing. Guarding the steps to Sitting
Bull was a large snake(our encounter with local reptile life). Cal
thought it might be a rattle snake so we only took pictures. I'm
sure the snake was smiling!!

YOU DECIDE WHICH IT WAS.
On route 1806 we saw many
herds of beef cattle. It must have
been a good winter because there were lots and lots of calves!! We even
saw a herd of buffalo, but we weren't quick enough to get a picture.

Cattle on the Plains. |
|
Eat and poop. Eat and poop. This is boring, let's jump the fence? |
For a while, it looked like
we were in the Badlands. There were rows of trees planted on the North side of
homes (natural snow fences and wind breaks for those cold North winds).
|
Looks bad to me. |
Finished the day with
an ice cream social. YUM! AND A RAINBOW!!
|
Where's that pot of gold?! |
