DAY 21 - BISMARCK, ND
JUNE 3, 2014

We started with a clear sunny day, around 60 degrees. We visited the ND State Capitol Bldg.  The tour guide explained the many materials used in the 1930 construction of the second Capitol Bldg.  The original Capitol was built in 1883.
The tallest State Capitol Building that's in North Dakota.
But some others say "our's is taller".
Must be men!

The old building burning.
This picture can only be seen in the ladies restroom.
Wonder why it's hung there?

We saw the Wall of Fame with many familiar faces starting with Lawrence Welk the first inductee.  It also included Bobby Vee, Angie Dickinson and many more.
Wall of Fame.

We saw the Great Seal of the State that weighed 450 lbs., the Senate Chamber and the Supreme Court Chamber.  The 18th floor had an array of pictures and great views of the city.
A seal big enough to stay put in the wind.

Lots of lies told here.

Supreme Court.
The truth, the whole truth, and anything but the truth.

On to the ND Heritage Center where we started 20 million years ago when ND was completely covered in water, to the dinosaur era, to the 1850s.
Another Heritage Center.

Old bones, interesting creature.

More old bones.

Another buffalo story.  Enough with the buffalo already!

On to lunch at Golden Corral. Several people showed off their eating capacity.  Most of us have lots of will power, but we seem to be short of don't power.
Wagon Master Potential.

Wagon Master, Fait Accompli.

Now for a relaxing cruise on the Missouri River on the Lewis and Clark Riverboat.  Oops, trouble with one engine almost made us have to row the boat.  Fixed in less than 30 minutes, then on our way.  Lots of contented people on the boat.

Nice boat, fake paddlewheels.

Happy passengers.

Oh, look.  It's the new Village.  Houses are a little better constructed here than in history.  Here's the Chief's new house almost finished.  His old house is right down the road.

The village.

Home of the Chief.

Back to the bus for a short ride back to our "primitive" camp.
