DAY 22 - BISMARCK, ND TO NEWTOWN, ND
JUNE 4, 2014

This was a travel day, but not your average travel day.  We left Bismarck in two groups.  This was to accommodate the en-route stop at the Knife River Indian Village.  The visit to the Village went as planned; however, the day was speckled with mechanical issues, wind/awning problems and other travel issues.

At Knife River, we saw more displays of Native history,

Operated by the National Park Service

Must be something exciting inside.

Hardly a crowd at all.

Circle the wagons, boys.  We're surrounded!

You, on the end, close up that gap.

Along the way we crossed Garrison Dam and had several beautiful views of Lake Sakakawea.

Downstream off the dam.

What can you say?  Beautiful.

Other than an awning billowing up, the remainder of the day went smoothly, and we all arrived at New Town.  Our campground is interesting, to say the least.  We are in the oil boom part of North Dakota, and the place is exactly what you would expect from a boom-town.

"Who" is on first, "I Don't Know" is on top, and "What" is up the ladder.
