Day 4 - St. Charles, MO
May 17, 2014

Our ride share "train" to St. Charles left @ 8:30.

The Little Train That Could
We enjoyed a guided tour of the "First Capitol" of Missouri (1821-1826).  In addition to the Government offices, the building included the Peck residence and store. The building included many samples of historic furniture, equipment, tools and supplies.

Somewhere had to be First!

Should we take a vote on that?

Look at the choices in merchandise!
On Main St., there were shops to visit, plus watching the Lewis and Clark Days Parade

Yer Right,      Yer Right,      Yer Right, Left, Right!
Forget the rights and lefts, Frontier Women to the Rescue!
The Borromeo Log Church is a French style vertical log building.  Lewis & Clark attended service in this church the day they left on their journey!

A Small Church can have Big Ideals.
The afternoon was spent at Frontier Park viewing all the displays for Lewis and Clark Days. A Keelboat replica that actually made the trip from Pittsburgh, PA to St. Louis to North Dakota and back to St. Louis was staffed by some of the people who built and sailed her.

And never stand in front!

55 feet long but where's the slide-outs?
The Boat House, a museum, included a diarama of the trip, a film, exhibits and equipment. Behind the museum, two pirogues floated gently in the river.

Calm on the River.
Lewis and Who???    Ice Cream - YUMMMM

Lots to take in on a beautiful blue sky day!
