This was a
free day. However, as with most free
days, everyone seemed to be busy. There
were several options for breakfast, and all options were used. The RV park sponsored a breakfast in the
office, and several couples took advantage of it.
There was a Cracker Barrrel within reasonable distance, and that also
collected a few people. Then there were
waffles under the awning for another group.
And some people chose none of those and had a quiet breakfast in their
own "home on wheels".
I might be done, but I'm not leaving. |
A table full of artery cloggers. |
Pan cake, fruit cake, or patty cake. Where's the syrup? |
The Air Force
SAC (Strategic Air Command) museum was only a few miles away. A "glass" shrine was another
attraction visited.

A shrine with nowhere to hide. |
A place for thinking. |
Of course,
laundry and other domestic duties are always available for any free time.
But the big
activity of the day was a gumbo meal prepared and served by the Louisiana
contingent. A huge thank you to Roland
and Ronnie, Dudley and Rexine, Andrew and Elsie, Don and Mae, and Pete and
Verna. Pete had control over the
preparation, and he did a magnificent
job. Along with the gumbo,
Richard and Kathy (not part of the Louisiana group) furnished a wide variety of
drinks and liquors. A big thank you to
them, as well. It is, and always will be,
the guests that make these trips what they are.
Left to Right: Think we can trust them? I don't know, it isn't looking good. Wonder what's in the pot. Stay away from my pot or I'll hit you with this spoon. I'm thirsty. |
Raise your hand if you're hungry. |
No talking, no funny stuff. |
The Gumbo King of Nebraska. |
Early in the evening, the bottles are still partly full. |
Only crazy people take pictures of food. Danni took this picture. |
