DAY 12 - GREENWOOD, NE TO NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD
May 25, 2014
Today is
another travel day, long tiring travel day.
We were faced with a challenging 136-mile drive through interstate
highways. It was a big challenge, but we
all lived through it. First things first,
though. The tailgunner thumped the
tires, which for most of us serves as a wake-up call.
We left one
campground and arrived at another. Along
the way, there were numerous sights to see.
Methodist Church in Ashland |
Must be a big river up here somewhere. |
The bluffs of Council Bluffs |
Where is everyone? |
As the KOA
staff at our new temporary home welcomed the last of our group, they could be
seen doing high fives in the rear view window.
They were either very happy to see us arrive, or they were so happy to
be done with our arriving. Either way,
they greeted us warmly with smiles and a gift bag. We
filled almost all the empty spaces in the campground.
Full up, and stickers across the park. |
The Founders
and still Part Owners of Adventure Caravans were waiting for us at our new
camp. Ron and Juanita brought along with
them dessert for everyone (most people had two) and drinks for the group. The guests that had previously met Ron and
Juanita enjoyed renewing that friendship.
The guests that had not met them, enjoyed getting to see who started the
company.
Wouldn't be sneaking chocolate now would you, Ron? |
(To quote Juanita) "And then I said, This is great fun!! Let's start a company helping people travel." |
These desserts are great! |
At the end
of the day, it was all good - - - - Again!
