DAY 7 - PLATTE CITY, MO
May 20, 2014

The day started with a drive that passed near the Kansas City Chiefs football stadium as well as the Kansas City Royals baseball stadium.

Nice looking stadium

And all of a sudden, the right side just fell - Crash!

In Independence, MO we visited the Truman Presidential Library and Museum as well as driving past Truman's home.  The Library and Museum contained much information about Truman and his Presidency.  It was interesting to see how Truman guided the United States for nearly eight years through his trials and tribulations.  The President and his wife Bess are buried on the grounds as well as their daughter and son-in-law.

Think Politics is tough today?  Donkey abuse from the past.

Still smiling after all these years.

The Missouri Whitehouse

We had a variety of choices for lunch.  We chose Up Dog for a "gourmet" hot dog.  Across the street was ice cream, conveniently located next to a coffin outlet.

Up Dog, Up Boy ---- Good Dog!

Get your ice cream here, Gramma's coffin next door.

The National Frontier Trails Center presented the subject of Westward Expansion.  Trails covered included Lewis and Clark, Santa Fe, Oregon, California, and Mormon.

The beginning point for going west.

Short on comfort, but easy to maintain.

Bullish on America!

Next we drove to the Community of Christ Temple that was closed.  The architectural style was very interesting.

Fuel this baby up, and watch her go.

It was another good day.
