DAY 2 - St Louis, MO
May 15, 2014
We
woke up to sunshine this morning, bus and everyone on time - off to a great start
for a first day of touring with Adventure Caravans.
Stopped
at the site of the 1904 World's Fair in Forest Park, St Louis, MO. which at one
time was larger than Central Park in New York City. Also in this park is
the Dwight Davis Tennis Center where the Davis Cup tournament got its name and
where all the famous tennis players have played.

Tower
Grove was our next stop in the park. The land was donated to the city by
Henry Shaw as a botanical area. He built several gazebos and walking
paths, and included ruins from a famous hotel that burned in St. Louis.

The
Missouri Botanical Garden was all 'green' with many lovely flowers in
bloom-beautiful grounds to wander and enjoy, also a Shaw legacy.

We
then 'grazed' at the Golden Corral for a buffet lunch and dined in a separate
area reserved just for us.
We
completed the day at the Budweiser Brewery for an educational beer-brewing tour
and view of the magnificent Clydesdale horses. We were all enjoying a
glass of beer when a thunderstorm hit- we scurried into the building and
managed to stay dry all day!
